iLinc System Requirements

You can use our hosted service or you can install iLinc within your own environment on a single server or on multiple servers.

iLinc Server Requirements for Installed Edition

You can install iLinc within your own environment on a single server or on multiple servers. For either scenario, to deliver a reliable service to your users we recommend that your servers meet the following requirements. These requirements have been validated by iLinc throughout the development and testing of the server architecture.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2
  • 3-GHz or faster Xeon processor
  • 4 GB RAM (8GB RAM for over 500 concurrent users)
  • 150 MB hard disk space (more will be required depending on content usage)
  • 100 Mb Network Interface Card (NIC) supporting TCP/IP
  • Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or 6.0
  • Remote or local mail server (for email invitations and reminders)
  • SQL Server 2005*, iLinc embedded database
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2003
  • Windows Server 2008 or 2003 SP2
  • 3-GHz or faster Xeon processor
  • 4 GB RAM (8GB RAM for over 500 concurrent users)
  • 150 MB hard disk space (more will be required depending on content usage)
  • 100 Mb Network Interface Card (NIC) supporting TCP/IP
  • Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, 7.0 or 7.5
  • Remote or local mail server (for email invitations and reminders)
  • SQL Server 2005 or 2008*, iLinc embedded database or MySQL (5.0 or 5.5 with ODBC 3.51 or 5.1 Driver)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 or 2007 32 bit
Bandwidth-related Features & Requirements
  • Data transport is native HTTP on port 80; firewall and proxy server friendly
  • Voice and video on either UDP 11730 or HTTP 80

*Due to double-byte character needs, SQL Server 2000 is not supported for iLinc 10 or 11.
